"The overnight cruise on Milford Sound was amazing! Kayaking on Lake Hawea was a lot of fun too. The drive from Lake Wanaka to the Matukituki River and the Rob Roy Glacier Hike was really beautiful, and then the hike up to Key Summit also! Dinner at Jon's house the first night was great! I really can't choose a highlight... It was all great - I guess this whole trip was a highlight!"

Sea Kayaking
New Zealand is a world renown sea kayaking destination. Let Serious Fun show you the best places to explore. From the Bay of Islands down to the Able Tasman National Park, we take you on the best adventures. Your Serious Fun guide will give you basic instruction on sea kayaking, and then it is up to you to have a go! We will take you to some of the best kayaking locations in NZ, and since we have our own kayaks, feel free to have a go at anytime!

Mountain Biking
Mountain BikingLooked longingly at those mountain bike mags but never quite got round to getting a bike? Well here’s your chance to put your dreams into reality – come mountain bike with Serious Fun! Wherever there is a bikable track, we’ll put you on it. We boast great tracks, great scenery and great Guides. What more could you ask for.

Milford Sound Overnight Cruise

Milford Overnight CruiseUpon arrival in the afternoon at Milford Sound, we will board our waiting vessel for an overnight cruise of the sound (it's actually a fiord!). We will cruise the length of the sound, stopping overnight in a quiet bay. You will also get the chance to paddle their sea kayaks in the evening and early morning. Glacier carved hanging valleys, thick native forest, spectacular waterfalls and sheer precipices tower over the fiord.

Home Visit

When in Queenstown, you are invited for a meal on the 22 acre property of the owners of Serious Fun New Zealand, Jon & Allison Imhoof. Jon & Allison will welcome you into their home and give you a chance to meet the faces behind the company.

Day Hikes

Each day we’ll hike around two to four miles on tracks we believe to be the best in the South Island. Our guides have encyclopedic knowledge of New Zealand’s natural history, vegetation and wildlife and delight in sharing the many natural wonders of New Zealand with our visitors.

Snorkeling
SealsPrefer underwater activities to land based? Snorkeling is the next best thing to deep sea diving. With New Zealand’s clear water and abundant fish life, you too will be able to spot that Bluehead sucker, more commonly referred to as Catostomus discobolus. While our Guides might not know every single species, they can definitely show you how to have a good time with a pair of flippers, a mask and snorkel.

Winery Tour

The South Island of New Zealand is fast gaining a reputation for its wine. The Wilson family planted Mount Maude vineyard in 1994 in the beautiful Maungawera Valley near Wanaka. Dawn and Terry welcome us into their home to taste some of the finest wines produced in the area.
