Riversurfing

The world’s first riversurfing operation was setup in Queenstown, by Serious Fun’s owner, Jon Imhoof. Later, in 1996 Jon ventured to Africa and found the ultimate riversurfing river in the world – the Zambezi. It is to riversurfers, what Hawaii is to surfers. With numerous standing waves, and large rapids, you can learn to surf and run Class V rapids!

Rafting

The Zambezi River is widely acclaimed as the wildest one-day whitewater run in the World. With rapids like “Stairway to Heaven”, “Star Trek”, and “Overland Truck Eater” the Zambezi is sure to test even the most hardened adventurer. The Zambezi is a Class V river and is recognized by rafting and kayaking enthusiasts alike as one of the top ten paddling rivers on the planet.

Game Walks

There is no better way to get “up close and personal” with the African bush than walking amongst the wildlife in a National Park. Accompanied by an armed Guide, you can walk through the National Park, observing the wildlife and learning about the finer points of the bush and its inhabitants. The Living Waters of the Zambezi trip will enable you to do numerous walks in Kafue National Park, the largest and possibly most untouched National Park in Zambia.

Canoeing

Upper Zambezi canoe trips are the perfect activity for those who want to experience the tranquility of the Zambezi River as they paddle downstream with the current in canoes. The trips begin approximately 25 km upstream from Victoria Falls and give endless opportunities to view wildlife both on the shores and in the water.

Game Drives

Game drives are offered throughout Africa, and from Livingstone, there are several national parks within a short drives distance. Each park is unique and offers different sightings. The Mosi oa Tunya National Park right outside Livingstone has the last remaining white rhino in Zambia.

Livingstone Island Lunch

The most spectacular lunch spot on the planet - Livingstone Island is located in the middle of the 1 mile wide Victoria Falls. We’ll take a boat out to the island, where a three course lunch with wine, champagne and beer will be waiting. Our table will be situated near the edge of Victoria Falls, where the water plummets 100 meters into the Batoka Gorge. After lunch, we can take a swim to cool off in the “Devil’s Armchair” – a safe swimming pool right on the edge of the Falls!

Boat Cruise

The Upper Zambezi River has a character all of its own. It is very wide (approx 1-1.5 miles) and is scattered with rocky outcrops and islands. The vegetation is very lush and tropical, making these islands the ideal homes for many species of wildlife. We will take a boat cruise on the River to explore some of the islands and their inhabitants. You can expect to see elephants, hippos, crocodiles and many other varieties of monkey and antelope.

Chief Mukuni’s Lampasa Palace & Mukuni Village

While staying at Songwe Point Village, we will travel by oxcart to a small museum which displays the pre-history of this area’s people and the geological history of Victoria Falls. Next we will visit a place steeped in tradition and over 700 years old, Mukuni Village. Here we will witness true village life and learn the ancient customs and beliefs of these people still living as their ancestors did hundreds of years before. If available, Chief Mukuni will welcome us into his Palace and talk to us about their culture. We will also visit the Royal Graveyard, the ancient Royal Drums and stand under the tree where David Livingstone first met the local Chief.
