QUINTESSENTIAL AFRICA

Day 1-3: Cape Town, South Africa
Our journey begins in Cape Town , South Africa 's oldest and fairest city. Undoubtedly, one of the world's most beautiful cities, Cape Town is very cosmopolitan with elegant shopping malls, antique shops, craft and flower markets. The Cape also has an abundance of fine dining, including some amazing local seafood, which is complemented by the excellent wines from the nearby wine lands of Stellenbosch and Paarl.

Upon arrival in Cape Town , we will meet at our accommodation and head out for a "Welcome Dinner" at Tuscany Beach Seafood Restaurant! We will be accommodated in the finest the Cape has to offer, staying in luxury condos, located in Camps Bay overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.

The first morning in Cape Town we will take a hike up Table Mountain and spend a couple hours taking in this awesome view. In the afternoon, we will take a boat trip out to Robin Island - the island where Nelson Mandela was incarcerated for 27 years. It is a very interesting trip into the history of South Africa. The following day we will take a journey to the Cape Peninsular where the Indian and Atlantic Oceans meet, having lunch at the Two Oceans Restaurant.

Day 4: Victoria Falls, Livingstone , Zambia
Zambia is often described as the "real" Africa , with more than a third of its vast landscape devoted to the preservation of wildlife. Our experience in Zambia is going to be unlike any you will find elsewhere.. Why you may ask? Because we are going to see and do things that will change your lives forever!! Named after the famous Victorian missionary explorer, Dr. David Livingstone, the town was established in 1905. Livingstone is now the "Adventure Capital" of Africa, offering a wide range of activities, including - riverboarding, white water rafting, jet boating, canoeing, horse riding trails, sky diving, abseiling, microlight and helicopter flights over Victoria Falls and of course, bungy jumping!

We fly from Cape Town to Livingstone around lunchtime, and upon arrival in Zambia , we will check into our accommodation at the Waterfront, on the banks of the upper Zambezi River . Then we head for Victoria Falls to enjoy 'sundowners' overlooking a natural wonder of the world.

Day 5-6: White Water Rafting & Riversurfing on the Zambezi River
Today we set out on an amazing adventure, beginning directly beneath Victoria Falls - a 2.5 day white water rafting trip down the mighty Zambezi River . The trip will be mostly done in rafts, but riverboarding will also be available for the more adventurous. Each day we will travel around 15kms down the river, surfing and playing along the way. We will be camping on beautiful sandy beaches on the rivers edge. Our meals will be prepared for us, three course dinners with wine and beers, elaborate breakfasts and picnic lunches on the river. No white water experience is necessary for this trip, first timers are welcome and will love it!

We spend the next two nights staying at the Waterfront. The Lodge is bordered on one side by the Zambezi River , and on the other by the Mosi oa Tunya National Park where the last remaining white rhino can be found in Zambia . Upon arrival at the Waterfront, we will relax for a few hours before heading out on a local tradition.. The sunset cruise aboard the Makumbi boat on the Upper Zambezi where various wildlife such as elephants, hippos & crocodiles can be seen, while having a BBQ dinner and an open bar!

The following day you are able to choose what you would like to do from the various adventure activities on offer in Livingstone. If you have already had enough excitement, an outing to a local African village is always fun, and can definitely turn up a few interesting bargains.

In the afternoon we will do something very special. an experience few are lucky enough to have. We will be treated to "high tea" in the most unique location anywhere in the world - Livingstone Island - this is the island in the middle of the 1.6km wide Victoria Falls. We will go out to the island in time to have sundowners and a swim in the "devils armchair" before sunset, and then relax on the island enjoying our meal and taking in this amazing environment.

Day 9-10: Jungle Junction
Today we will check in for a two-night stay at Jungle Junction. Jungle as we call it is a basic but comfortable camp situated on an island in the middle of the Zambezi River. This will be an experience to remember for all. Whilst on the island, relaxation will be the order of the day. There are activities available such as fishing, exploring the river in a macora (dugout tree trunk canoe) or game viewing. Otherwise, simply relax in one of the private hammocks over the river and take in this unique and amazing place.

Day 11-15: Sausage Tree Camp, Lower Zambezi National Park
After lunch we set off for Zambia 's premier wildlife reserve, the Lower Zambezi National Park . Here we will stay at Jason & Alan's beautiful Sausage Tree Camp. This is true luxury in the bush, with each tented room having an ensuite bathroom, five star service and gourmet meals.

While staying at Sausage Tree, we will do a variety of activities offered by this exquisite park - these are game drives, canoeing, walking safaris, fishing and boat trips. The LZNP is one of the most unspoilt parts of the world where the wildlife roams uninhabited and quite often will wander right through the camp. This is a wildlife experience second to none where you can expect to see plenty of elephants, hippos, crocs, antelope, zebra, lion & hopefully the elusive leopards!
